What’s happening in Term 1
Here is the curriculum map for 2017-18.
Please take a look at our topic web for Term 1.
Pupils have access to a well- resourced, large Early Years unit that enables them to explore, share and ignite their interests and imagination! Our role play areas are designed to promote high quality talk and interactions and allow the pupils to make positive relationships with their peers and the adults who are supporting them. We will be exploring early number skills including recognition, accurate counting and numeral formation. The learning of reading and writing skills begins from day 1 as pupils are taught phonics lessons daily. There are mark making and early writing opportunities across our provision that link to pupils’ current learning. In this topic we find out about friends, family and ourselves, what we enjoy and celebrate our achievements and share our worries or concerns. We enable the pupils to express themselves clearly so that they can communicate their ideas and learning effectively.
Remember to support your child with daily reading at home so that they can collect their reading certificates!! A chart recording progress is displayed in each Early Years cloakroom so that you can track your child’s success.
