FOWLS – Friends Of Westbury Leigh
The Friends of Westbury Leigh (FOWLS) is a registered charity and member of the PTA-UK. Its aim is to support the school by raising funds to support the development of the school not provided for by the normal school budget. We work in partnership with the school to organise and support events that enrich the curriculum for the children and give the community the opportunity to get involved with the school. These have included the Annual Christmas Market and our Summer BBQ.
Since we have been established, our main focus for fundraising has been the development of the school grounds and last year we raised funds for a fantastic trim trail that the children thoroughly enjoy.
We're really proud of the difference we've made to Westbury Leigh Primary School. We also run discos, cake sales, family quizzes and many other family events which we hope the community will enjoy.
Our AGM is held every September and all parents and carers are invited to attend and find out more about what we do. A committee is elected and this committee works throughout the year to organise and plan our activities. All parents and family members of pupils past and present are “friends” of the school and our events and meetings are open to everyone.
Committee member positions for 2018/19 are:
Chair: Mrs Debroah Howels, and Mrs Sarah Reynolds
Vice Chair: Mr Adrian Rendall
Treasurer: Mrs Hannah Solman
Secretary: Mrs Sandra Seviour
Staff members: Mr Benj Thomas, Mrs Helen Plows, Mr John Fowler
