Westbury Leigh Church of England Primary School is a large school on the edge of Westbury Leigh in Westbury town. The school has capacity for 420 children. Despite being a larger than average school there is a strong sense of family and identity which is strengthened by its uniqueness as a church school.
Our school mission statement summarises everything our school stands for and our 3 key words: Inspire, Aspire and achieve are core to all we do.
At Westbury Leigh Church of England Primary School we are inspired to flourish, aspire to great things and achieve beyond expectation. With God’s love we all grow as individuals, we are courageous, responsible and show respect in all we do.
Our vision is underpinned by the story of Timothy from the Bible. Timothy was a student of St Paul and he wanted to help spread the good word and inspire communities to follow the word of God. Adults would often scorn him saying he was too young to know of such things and asking who he was to guide them. Paul reminded him t be strong and remain true to his faith and his will to help others.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 1:4
We believe that the future of our world is in the hands of our children and their voice and place within this should be nurtured, heard and respected. Children are given lots of opportunities to have their say and help shape their future, their community and the wider world through their work across the curriculum and participation in wider school life. We warmly welcome visits to the school and nothing sells what we have to offer better than coming to see us for yourself.
